Black Keyhole Angelfish and Orange Shoulder Tang

Hi everyone! I am new to the salt water life and need some assistance. I have a 65 gallon tank with a small variety of fish and live rock. Due to a purchase from what turned to be an unsavory dealer, most of my initial fish were wiped due to disease. After cleaning and restarting we added (at the same time) a orange shoulder tang, yellow tang and Koran angel. All 3 are juveniles and get along very well. Within a week of adding the 3 amigos, I was given the opportunity to purchase a juvenile black keyhole angelfish and was assured it would get along with the present occupants. HOWEVER the orange shoulder is bullying the keyhole angel. We have the moved the keyhole to a small separate tank for now, but there is no way it can be sustained long term. Any suggestions on changes we can make to the tang to stop the bullying? HELP

Tank is too small especially for those 2 tangs you have. One of those angelfish would be fine but those 4 fish is too much for a 65 gallon tank.

I am just starting out. But, Tangs, Specially the Koran Angel. are supposed to be in larger tanks then 65 gallon. They may be battling for territory and it wont get any better until all or most of them are dead. the Orange Shoulder get to be 1' - 1'2", Yellow Tang 8" and Angel 1' - 1'3". I hate to be the bearer of bad news but anything small may get pestered but them. And they will most likely start pestering each other the tangs like LOTS of swimming room.

I get my minimum tank requirements from here - http://www.liveaquaria.com/

And then make a list of fish suited for the tank I have.

That's just my 2 cents.

I am personally not sure how you can avoid this maybe re-aquascape I heard that may help.

No, to all of those fish listed. 65 gallon, IMO, is still too small for a Keyhole which can get to the length of 8 inches, and can be aggressive. To help you out go to www.liveaquaria.com and look at some fish and their profile to get an idea.

I'd pull 'em all. The Keyhole is a huge maybe at best - mine is a jerk to my Tomini in my 75. Unless you are rather light on your fish load, at which point is the point I'd maybe keep the Keyhole, I think it would be smart to re-do your fish selection. Currently you need at least a 6x3 footprint for your tangs and angel. An 8x3 wouldn't be anywhere near too big.

Btw, you should be quarantining all your fish before adding them to the tank or eventually you will lose them again. All fish have the potential to bring disease and parasites into your tank regardless of who you buy them from.

I highly recommend you read the stickies about setting up a tank.
