black misbar ocellaris

My daring wife bought me three black misbar ocellaris yesterday for my early Christmas present.

She was at Petco buying dried pigs ears for our dog and saw three black clownfish. She asked them how much and the head of the pets department said, $3.29 each because they were damsels. My wife said no, they are clownfish, see, over there, in your other tanks, the false perc's, see, how they are the same but different colors. This person continued on to say, look, their wholeseller sent them as damsels, they were labels as damsels, so they are damsels. How many do you want? Btw, the false perc's were going for approx $15 ish.

So my wife said she will take them all, all three. So she came home with three black misbar ocellaris for my QT tank. They look healthy and are eating cyclop-eeze and form #1.

So by Christmas time, if they are doing well, into the big house they go. My 75g close loop.

SCORE =)

btw, I usually tell my wife never to buy fish from petco or petsmart. But this she knew it was worth the risk, plus I would be giving them a better home.

You think they are from ORA?

what are you going to do with the third one? after awhile one is going to get picked on

Honestly,

I don't know, what can I do? I figured in time, it would be one female, and two male? They don't have anymore.

Well, basically yes. Im not the expert to be giving you right on answers. I just know that once theres a female, the next dominate will be male, and the other one will be picked on (possable death)
Dont panic wait for others to chime in. But you might have to regift one eventually ;)

in nature (and some tanks) it can occur to have more than just the pairs around. You will have the female the male, and the others will remain submissive juveniles. In nature this serves the purpose that if one of the pair dies off there will be another to take its place. You may have luck and keep all three, but then they may kill the 3rd. Nothing is certain in this hobby and only time will tell for sure.

I've never noticed any of these at my local petco. Maybe that's because I don't go there often. If I do though I'll definitely have to look for this deal.

I would love to find a deal like that.

I would set up a new tank just for that, I have always wanted the black clowns...Only see them when i canot buy them and never at that kind of deal.
