is a black ocellaris clowns the same as orange ocellaris and would a 10g be to small for 2? Also if I buy 2 and put them in the same tank will they mate

Wow your goin a little to fast their haha. You can keep a pair of them in a 10g as though Otis not reccomdeded. What else do you plan to have in the tank? And also clowns can take up to 2+ years to spawn so unless you buy a spawning pair it might be awhile but they will eventually spawn if kept under proper conditions.

A 10gal nano tank is waaaaay too small for 1 clownfish, much less a pair. Clownfish need a minimum of 25gal tanks. Yes, a b/w occy & orange occy could pair up. You might check into a small goby/pistol shrimp combo for that size nano.

I honestly think this is untrue. I have 3 10gallon tanks with a pair of skunks, oceallris, and Blackfoot clowns. And 2 if those pair are spawning. It just depends on what your going to have in the tank with them.

Just cause it is done, doesn't make it right...Think about housing a Great Dane in a closet...A 10gal nano shouldn't have more than one small fish in it; like a damsel, or goby/shrimp pair, maybe a dottyback--something that stays small. Live Aquaria & most reefers here will suggest at least a 20--30gal tank for a clown. Check out the clownfish /anemone sticky on here, too.
