Black Saddleback(Polymnus)

Hello all,
I have had two black Saddleback clowns for over a year now, trying to pair them up. Added a carpet anemone a few weeks ago and this week all hell broke loose! The smaller clown kicked the sh** out of the larger one.

Anyway, am looking to move one or both(not together!). I am also willing to sell the carpet along with one of them.

The carpet is an electric green, about 5-6" across.
The clowns are around 2 1/2"-3 1/2"

Anemone and 1 clown($70)

(1)Roughed up clown($10)

Note: These fish are territorial!!! Obviously!

Thanks,
Ken

Hi... glad to hear some one else with a fire clown. Actually I no longer have mine, since I just sold my entire system. I had only seen one other one in a pet store. As far as I was told, it's never a good idea to try and pair them up, as they are known as the most agressive clowns on both mates, and their host anemone. Even worse than maroons. (So I've been told.)

Of coarse it's my avatar, but here's the full size pic.

Not fire clowns

Not fire clowns

I like the pic. I have seen a few fire clowns in the last couple years. The clowns I have are A. polymnus, sometimes sold as black percs, but actually Saddlebacks. Younger ones typically have yellow on their side fins and nose. I think my biggest problem was that it took a while to find my second and they were too close in size when I got it. They tolerated each other for over a year, but I guess they have anemone envy!

Hmmm... I was thinking the saddle backs are the same as the fire clown as I had. Maybe I should have double checked before being a smart a**! :D Don't mind me, it's just the beer talkin' ...
