Black spots on false percs

Hi I woke up this morning and my clowns have some black spots on them. They seem to be fine. They are eating and swimming around. I did see one of them flashing a bit though.

I read somewhere that sometimes fish get black spots if they are stung by something. Have any of you had any experience with this?

The spots are not raised or grain like, just flat and kind of sheer.

I recently added two palys to the tank so am wondering if maybe they sting? tks

It's possible your fish are being stung by the palys. If that's all it is, I wouldn't worry. The spots usually go away.

+1 and a good way to tell is if the spots are not on the white.
