Black spots on kole tang

Just got a kole tang 4 days ago, he is in QT. happily swimming around unless he sees you in the room lol. I know he's eating as I saw him pecking at stuff, though he has yet to take to the entice soaked green sea weed. The Issue is he was colorless I'd assume from stress, he's began to get some color back, however he has the black spots all over him. I've never seen anything like this and he was fine for the last few weeks at the Lfs. Any ideas?

I'm thinking that may be the case. Started prazi today.

Started prazi yesterday. No real signs of improvement. His lower jaw is getting more blue so I guess he's getting color back, however the dang QT water is cloudy so I'm assuming a bacterial bloom. I just did a partial water change. He's being lazy hiding in his pipe. After this prazi treatment I am going to do a formalin treatment for a few days and then prazi again. Really hope I can get this cleared up. Then ill clean out the QT 100% and leave him in a clean tank for another week or 2 after the initial period.

Prazipro once and then again 5 days later is the best course of action for the worms. It's usually caused by poor water quality so keep a eye on that

I ended up doing 8 gallons of a water change. I'd be inclined to say he already had it as he went into a totally sterile and new filtered QT

Good possibility, I would be double checking and proactively treating anything ever purchased from wherever you got him... Better yet don't get anything from wherever the fish came from again

It's ok. I treat everything I get. Plus it's good practice for whenever it may come up again!

Alright I can't really claim to say he is getting any better. Just dosed 3/4tsp instead of 1/2tsp of prazi, I will do a water change on Friday night and then do a FW dip for 5 mins and then dose the tank with rid ich which has formalin in it. Seems to be that formalin is good for this. I feel like he is eating because the little algae wafer halves I put in there are gone and I don't think the filter is getting the remnants so I can assume at least he is eating. Pics, they aren't pretty.

And of course any and all ideas please.

Well he looks quite a bit better this morning, this second round of prazi did some work! A ton of little black specks are all over the bottom of the tank. And he has some color back.
