Yea, I'm planning on capping the top with a vent hole. I made the return so long in hopes it would catch most of the bubbles, but many are still getting out. I will probably route the output the other way not so close to the drop into the return section.

What's the purpose of the gutter guard there McGyver?

It helps create a distance between the sand and the tube which let's you shove the tube into the sand and stir up the detritus without picking up the sand.

Yea I know. I'm going to try the salifert tonight as well to see if that one shows a drop as well. If so, then I'm going to stick with a 12ml dose a day of carbon. Any higher than 15 and it seems like I create bacteria bloom.
