Hey everyone, I always wanted to make a build thread and final doing it. This Thursday my 220 gallon comes in, I have all the equipment for the tank to run (light, sump, pump, etc.) I'm still thinking about what kind of rock to get if anyone has a suggestion please post. So far I have the stand frame built ready for the tank to sit on I plan on skinning and doing all the finish work with the tank on the stand so this is what I have so far.

Hey guys sorry for not posting sooner been busy painting the basement and working on the stand some more, thursday at lunch time my buddy that owns a saltwater store that I bought the tank though texted saying the truck didn't have enough room for my tank. So it will be here Wednesday or Thursday. So here an updated picture of the stand, I built a little stand for the protein skimmer and put the rest of the backing in the tank and also glue and screwed 3/4 inch plywood to the top. In the picture under the stand you can see two outlet boxes, the one on the right has two 20amp outlets each one is on their own 20 amp circuit. I know it's over kill but rather be safe than sorry. I'm also making a fish list for the tank I'm going to put alot of tangs in it so far I have chevron, sohal, and purple in my 75 at the moment, so if you have any other suggestions please post them

Hope those outlets are going to GFCI breakers... Envision water spills and even display water coming down back of tank? Any powerhead cords from above outlets need drip loops for sure.... Most wood stands get a few coats of epoxy or marine type paints or porch paint on inside minimum.

The stand looks good. I'm also going to have my stand built for my 240g DD. I like your build. One question though. Is your sump going to be stuck inside the stand once your doors go on, or is there enough room for it to slide out if needed? Thanks.

Yup I have gfi's just haven't put them in yet and I just sealed the inside of the tank today and I'll have mp 40's on the tank so no wires going in the tank

So the stand will have 5 doors on it 3 on the front and 1 on each side, and I will be able to remove the sump from either side easily. I made the stand also taller so there is more working room underneath

Ok I just got a update on the shipping of my tank and it will be here Thursday so I'll have pictures thursday night

Awesome bet your excited :)

I remember just being anxious...

Had to get a truck to pick it up from a depot 80 miles away.
Had to uncrate it.
Had to figure out how to get the thing in the house.

Where will the drains be? Out the back? Stand looks great, but may obstruct the bulkheads if they are on the bottom. That's a mistake I always seem to manage to make (despite being aware of it).

The tank has corner overflows on each side and bulk heads are on the bottom and I laid the tank stand out so the bulk heads will go stright down through the top of the stand and not interfere with anything. I still have to drill the holes for the bulkheads

Let the plumbing begin so excited my tank has finally came. The black and the white paint is marine paint just to seal the wood. Ps this is not the finish stand there's alot more work to finish it

So I ended up working on the tank the whole weekend. I still have to move some more rock over from my other tank and hang the 3rd light and still move over the reactors, so this is what I got so far
