I have a One Spot Foxface that is just bland. He eats anything I put into the tank, constantly if I was willing to feed him all day long, looks healthy, doesn't scratch himself on the rocks, nothing that would indicate a health problem.
But, he's rarely the bright yellow that he was when I brought him home from the LFS. He's incredibly skittish, darting for cover everytime I walk past the tank. Unless I've got the food cup in my hand, then he's right at the top waiting for me.
I'm used to seeing him in his mottled brown in the morning when he's just waking up, but for the month or so the top half of his body has remained brown from his spot to his tail.
Is this normal for these guys? I've got him in a 55g tank, but he's pretty small still at only 3-4". I know eventually he'll need a bigger home. Does he just need more room to roam or is this just what I should expect from this particular fish?
