Blasto lighting question

Hi all;
I have some blastos that are about 7" below the top of the tank. I've been running two 65w PCs and they are doing great. I'm going to be upgrading to a 250w 14K HQI. After acclimation will I need to move them down ?

Yes, they like lower light.. You'll need them to placed on the bottom and maybe even slightly shaded for a while..

What size tank is it going over?

It's a 30 tall. 24" tall X 15" wide X 24" long.

With the upgrade, you will need to acclimate all your corals to the change in intensity. What I did when I upgraded to MH (from PCs), I placed several layers of mesh screening over the top of the tank. Every few days I would remove a layer. It took me about 2 weeks total before I had removed all the mesh.

That's what I was going to do. Eggcrate with about 5 or 6 layers of window screen. But I didn't know about how long it would take.
