Blastomussa Wellsi

Yes. A lady in our local reef club has 1 that is a darker but bright green and dark bright purple. Not the pastel colors that you see often. It is awesome.

yes, there is a blasto that looks like a PPE, but is a nice wellsi.

In addition a total purple one with a green slit mouth.

I think I'm the lady of which he speaks. Here's the coral:

Does anyone know what this is?

One of them became disconnected from the rock. It is in the picture with the zoos.

Thanks for your reply.

clearly my photos aren't doing justice. I looked at some rhodactis online and didn't really see anything that looked like these. Maybe it's just my unfamiliarity with rhodactis but I think it's something else.

Do you think it could be a merleti?

There is a picture that might give an idea of how the green looks on it. It is not raised but runs in the "skin" like this picture, though the green in mine is very organized and lines up over the ridges from left to right.

It is a Cynarina deshayesiana. Ill see if I can get the site again.

Here's the site:

There is no hard shell but rather soft underneath and one has dislodged itself from its rock...Does that mean it is none of these?

Yes - all stony corals have a hard, calciferous base naturally. It does sound like a mushroom of some sort as a result...do you have another picture?

Thanks for trying flipturn. The thing is...it's so funny, these change with lighting. When I take a picture they don't look the same. They are very light sensitive.

I appreciate all the responses. The wellsi and such are all truely beautiful. Though mine are most likely what you say, your pictures inspire me to find some of what you all have if I can find the patience to keep up this 20 hour a day hobby(sometimes it seems like it.)

I do have a candy cane polyp. It is that pale colorless blue. It is still pretty.

Thanks again. Feel free to post more of those beauties. We all love looking
