Bleached mag rehab

Well as long as this guy continues to do well, and seeing how happy my clowns are, I'm going to keep the mag/ritteri and stay w/ just that one nem.
It's perfectly centered on a pillar in my tank, w/ luck that is where it will stay(I'm pretty sure light and flow are perfect for it there) and my nem/picasso's are my fav, so that will be main focus of tank and plenty of room for mixed corals on the other pillars.

Good thing with point source lighting like MH or LED is you can kinda keep these suckers where you want them. My tanks are a bit "spotlighty" to keep the haddoni and hmag front and center. Bta's just seem to wanna go all over regardless lol.

Chromis photobomb! Looks to be gaining some color back on the tips and part way down the tentacals.

Lol, ALL my fish were photo bombing away, got a great couple shot and my dang male lyretail...
Oh well, still ok shot, and thanks, I agree it is getting a tad darker and better color, and for sure not getting any worse, that in itself is a good thing.
No deflation or anything, seems happy where it is.
I think I'm going to bump my other bank of T5's on, but shade the mag w/ a couple layers of light diffuser/eggcrate.
The happy couple.

Could do that or you could run the extra set of t5 for a shorter period of time. Then slowly ramp the length they are on up. Honestly I would normally just say blast the sucker with whatever light you have but with it being bleached you are doing the right thing taking it easy.

Yeah I'm scared to blaze, I have a panorama fusion strip and a panorama actinic strip running as well, and they are fairly hot off the bulb, and it's up pretty high.
I'm eazin' this baby in.

Thanks, got a couple more of my babies spawning in their new new anemone area tonight, guess they are happy w/ their new host and home!

Looks like the mag is coloring up a bit. Clowns look very happy and healthy. Are you giving them full light some of the time. My thought is that full intensity lighting for at least a little while per day is good to expedite the recolonization of the zooxanthellae. How many bulbs do you have over the mag?

I just today turned on the other bank of 4 T5's.
I was running 2 on my ATI, along w/ a 48" panorama actinic blue and one 48" marine strip.
It seemed to like the light, keeping good color.

I expect the additional T5s will be just what it needs to get back to its normal coloration. I've kept mags under MH and T5s, and for my oldest one (now over 12 years I've had it), I started out with two 96-watt PCs. I believe that T5s are the best lighting option. If you have good spectrum, high PAR bulbs, T5s are hard to beat. I know some people keep them successfully under LEDs, but I haven't ventured to LEDs yet, so I can't speak from experience on that one.

Yeah I'm a big fan of T5's as well, and my LED strips were originally for adding the shimmer T5's lack, but these have decent PAR value as well, and w/ my mag so high up in the column as opposed to my previous habit of keeping sand dwellars I'm sure it's getting plenty of light, and I'm just being cautious w/ it still being fairly bleached, especially since LEDs are so hot off the bulb.
My GF snapped a couple phone pics last night and I think you can start to see some of the color coming in, as well as getting darker.
It still has kind of a patchy bleach area, and I'm not sure why the zoo is coming in uneven, but at least it's coming in.
Just starting to look pretty, but can't wait for full color to see what I really got!

Half colored haha looking good. Mines in treatment again. Had more deflations. Need to borrow a multimeter and check for stray current cause he always looks perfect in the QT then after a week or two in the DT back to deflation.
