Bleaching carpet anemone?

I am using my son's login. He tells me this is a knowledgable site and I am fairly new to the hobby.

I have had a large green carpet anemone for 5 months that has recently been showing signs of bleaching around the edges, then receding and turning white. This area is near green star polyps that at first I thought could be stinging it, but I am not sure that would cause this much damage. There is also an area near the middle that is losing its tentacles and color. Has anyone had experience with this type of problem?

I have tried to download photos tonight, but am having trouble, so I will try to add them tomorrow.

Maybe he's not getting enough light?

What are your water parameters and what kind/how much lighting do you have?
