I bought a Green Carpet Anemone right before Halloween. It settled in the crevice of large rock. There was another rock over top of it, Kind of like a shelf. This blocked some of the light, but the anemone seemed ok. It was eating well, and spread out and opened most of the time. Just before Christmas, I noticed about half of the carpet was white (bleached). The other half looked ok. I have since moved the shelf to allow full light to get to the carpet. It has started to color up a bit, but not much. I went down to look at the tank this evening and caught one of my Emerald Crabs picking at the Anemone. Almost like it was trying to pull pieces of it off to eat. My tank is a 75 gallon that has been setup for 13 months. Water params are all good and feeding is about twice a week. My clowns have never had anything to do with the anemone. The cleaner shrinp crawls all over the Anemone without worry of being eaten. My question is how do I get it off of the rock without damaging it so I can relocate it to another tank, or would it be better just to move the whole rock, or should I just leave it where it is and let nature run it's course. Thanks for the help.
