Blennies

So I'm going to start adding some live stock and I like the little fish such as gobies and blennies. so this is a 2 part question.
1. can I keep mixed gobies and blennies if they are from different genes?
2. Will a chalk bass and some small jawfish be ok with these?

Generaly with gobies you can have 2 of a species if you want, they may fight for a while but they should work it out. They can change sexes.

Blennies are a different story, best to keep one from a genus, they can't change sex like gobies, and they will fight.

The chalk bass and the jawfish should be fine.

With my experience you can only have one or the other. You can't mix bennies and gobies together. My lawnmower blenny chased my yellow watchman goby all over the tank until he took a ride in the overflow and down into the sump. That became his permanent home since it happened every time I tried introducing him back to the display tank.

First of all, what size is your tank? For as Blennies, you may can get away with a Lawnmower Blenny and Midas Blenny. LMB occurs the bottom 3rd and the Midas occupies more middle to top 3rd of the tank. You may can get away with a LMB and one of the fang blennies. I would not mix LMB/Starry Blennies with a goby or jawfish (depending size of tank). Majority of gobies and all jawfish occupy the bottom 3rd and this is when you run into problems, in IMO. Hope that makes sense. Always remember "what works for someone else may not work for you".

Good point!
I've always kept , gobiodons, a variety of stonogobiops, pearly jawfish with either a bicolor or a two spot Blenny . And everything has been ok. I'm guessing it depends on the specimen. I've had one bicolor who was annoying and 3 that were good.

I have a Starry and Midas blenny together with 2 neon gobies and 1 sharknose. Their in a 6 ft tank and dont seem to mind even when they all are right next to each other.

Are you asking me or the OP? My tank is 60x24x24. 150 gallons. And my lawnmower blenny cruises the whole tank. Top to bottom.

I've kept a pair of molly miller blennies, a pair of tiger gobies, a pair of neon gobies, and a small group of masked gobies all in the same 50G tank with no issues.
