Blenny/goby recommendations

I'd like to add a goby or blenny to my 58 gal tank. I want something easy to keep, accepts most foods, colorful and/or interesting personality, and non-aggressive. Recommendations? Thanks !

My Midas Blenny is my favorite fish:

Plus they have tons of personality:

Is the Midas blenny harder to feed and keep healthy than the bi color?

Not at all.

It's eats small meaty foods like frozen Mysis/Brine shimp or any finely chopped meaty foods. In the wild is survives off of Zooplankton primarily. Mine is a hog and eats anything it can fit in its mouth. He even ate Formula One flake when I used to feed that.

Are the midas or bi-color jumpers? I don't have a top on my tank.

I don't believe that Midas Blennies are jumpers. At least I've never seen mine get spoked to the point of jumping. They kind of swim in this cool eel like motions so I'm not sure it they could get enough speed to get air bourne.

i personally like gold-head sleeper gobies. i have 2 & both eat whatever i feed the tank, are out most of the time, are peaceful & are nice looking. i guess they're not the brightest colored, but the blue streak on their cheeks is cool looking.

My Midas is the star of the tank. He gets along with all tankmates and eats EVERYTHING I offer. Even when I try to feed the corals Cylopes or Phyto he has his face in the turky baster. These guys have tremendous energy though, and I'm not so sure about never jumping. Sometimes he tries to push himself up out of the water with his tail fin like a dolphin dancing on the water. I keep my tank covered, but I would imagine it would be well within his power to clear the ledge if I left the lid up.

He has this one thing he does that is really cool. There is a little nook in one of the rocks that leans against the glass that is the exact size and shape of his body. This is where he sleeps. He can swim at great speeds right into that little nook, and back out of it without a scratch and he does this with comical agility. No tank should be without a Midas.

Mike. Great pictures, by the way.

Tailspot blenny---eats absolutely anything. Has taken a couple of curious nips at montipora foliosa, but decided it was not algae and quit.

tailspot blennies are great - mine had so much personality. He never bothered anyone or anything, and he was always out and about.

My Midas will indeed eat just about anything put into the tank, but I've never seen him bother any corals at least not my softies, and he's never shown any attention to my Kenya Tree and won't go near the Frogspawn. But I feed the tank well. All my fish are fat. Truthfully, just judging by the Midas' personality I'd say one might nip at corals or anything if they were not fed as much. Mine might do it just to get my attention if he got bored. The Midas I keep actually perches on a rock and lethargically watches TV but gets noticeably active during the commercials because he knows that is when he will get intention. They are bright fish, but probably stupid enough to jump out of a tank if it didn't have a lid.

Hmmm, I'm really torn. I think the Midas blennies are gorgeous, but knowing my luck I would get a nipper

I heard they were SPS nippers, can any midas keepers comment on this?

My midas has never touched my SPS or LPS.
