Blennymower's 75g Reef

Got a Bluejaw Trigger a while ago. Found him in a store, and he was the first Bluejaw I have found to have an appetite so I bought him. He's been eating a lot but has been very shy, but it's been improving.

It's been very hard to get a picture of him

Finally got two Reeflux 12k's in both sides.

Removed the rocks from the refugium and placed them and some more on the DT as you can see. The rocks in the refugium were collecting way too much detritus, that's why I removed them.

I needed a bubble trap for the drain to reduce salt creep but I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting the glass cut and gluing it in to the sump so I just made this DIY bubble trap. Works better than glass and was very cheap.

The Reeflux 12Ks are a little bit more white. The pictures put them out to be blue.

The trigger is doing great healthwise. He eats like a pig for sure, comes out the second the food gets in the water. But he's still really shy, comes out every so often but spends most of his time swimming in a corner of the tank or beind a rock. I don't think he's stressed out since he doesnt show any signs of desease.

I'd imagine if he's eating like a pig, he's probably not sick. It will be interesting to see how well he behaves as time passes.

I'd love to get a set of those halides you have for my tank, but I imagine they are costly. My 36" T5s will have to do, for now! :)

Wow...this has been an awesome trip in the hobby. I just read your whole thread and I really like the looks of your current tank. Hopefully this time you will run this system for a while longer.

Lot's of other members had the same taste issue with lightning, they switch from MH to T5 than back to MH then to LED then back to MH. I really want to save me all that time and money and want to go with MH when I set up my upgrade.

I got a couple of questions for you. You are running two 250W's, and not using a chiller your tank doesn't go more then 80F. That's incredible, but I imagine that you keep your place at a low temperature. I can't do that my living area is a little more that 1800 sq ft, and I keep my thermostat at 77-76F if I lower that it will cost me a fortune.

I thinking to run two 150W or 175W with good reflectors and maybe a small chiller 1/8HP or maybe a 1/4HP, haven' t decided.

Anyways, hope to see more pictures on you next update...
