blind tang?

OLDGUY-OG
My blue tang appears to be blind or something very wrong with his eyes. I can only get him to eat if I touch seaweed to his mouth. Any help or info.?

If the fish is really blind then I know of no cure. Parasite can attach to a fish's eye but those should be visible on close inspection. If its a parasite issue then a formalin bath or FW dip may help.

I doubt a blind fish can live long in captivity unless your going to manually feed it all the time. Unfortunately you may have to consider euthenasia ... if you go that route many will place the fish in a container of SW and place in the freezer. Sorry.

The tang still seems to have very crummey vision. I have been hand feeding him for at least two weeks. We've given him several baths I cannot believe this fish is still hanging on. Anyone else have this sort of thing?

I am currently going through this with my Emperror Angel that i have had for a year. I did the freshwater dip for 10 minutes and it appeared as if its eyes had cleared up. Two days later it returned and now he is struggling to see. I have been manually feeding and he is still eating. It is very sad to watch a fish that I have raised from a juvenile go through this. I may try formalin and if that doesn't work I may have to euthanize. Anyone know of specific meds I could dose?
