Blk & Wht Ocellaris with regular?

May seem like a dumb question but I gotta ask. My 46 gal has been up and running for about 4 years. Purchased my 1st pair of Ocell. as soon as the tank was good to go. They paired and were inseperable, about 2 years in my male (smaller, submissive one) took sick and died. About six months later I got another, made sure this one was smaller than the female. As soon as I placed him in he swam right up to the female and they hit it off. Well last year in August my tank lost a seal, took about a week to reseal and transfer all the contents back. Lost all of my zoos, inverts, midas blenny and my female clown who was with me from the beginning :(. The only survivors were my royal granma and the male clown. I now wish to get another clown but was wondering how well would a black and white fit into this senario. I know that they are the same species just a color var but I just wanted any info I could get before I bought one and if I do get one do I get one the same size or do I make sure that it's larger than him.

Your original male is most likely a female now (when they are alone, they usually change from male to female). If you want to add another, it has to be smaller. Try and find a juvenile. The juvenile will become a male. My Orange and B/W got along good together. Of course you realize that just because the last addition was accepted doesn't mean the next one will... There are no guarantees with pairing.

Thanks so much mltmtascp for taking the time to reply. I do understand that there are no guaruntees, was thinking how lucky I was that they got along right of the bat. Just wanna better the odds.
