blond naso tang

Also in my 57 I have a lot of rock. I also currently have 12 fish. Got a few for free for a guy giving them away so I ended up with more than I wanted or should. But my tangs go and sleep in the rock every night. You say give them plenty of open space. But don't they need plenty of rock to sleep in also. Or hide in when scared. My hippo darts in and out of the rock all day. Might be that the tank is too small for it so not acting normal

I have rock piles with lots of caves and hiding places, but there is also a lot of open space and straight line runs so the fish have room to swim, yet have protected places too.

So they key as in any fish I believe is make sure they are eating an eating fish is a healthy fish

Ok so both are important. That's why I hate my 57 with center overflow it blocks have the tank. First and last time I will get a center overflow

Well, usually. But they also need to be relaxed and act "normal". Should not constantly be battling, posturing or chasing/being chased.

But a a little Daliy fighting once in a while. Without it getting bad what you think of that. My yellow and hippo with square off but so far doesn't last more than a few seconds. I know I need to upgrade soon

hkgar stated differently and to be honest without being rude, i dont really think he has the experience to be talking on this subject.

If you say it ain't rude then it's not. Right, not sure what counts as experience, but I have 14 years in the hobby.

I won't deny have have had tank problems, GHA epidemic, nasty Ick outbreak 2 power losses for over 3 days each (hurricane and ice storm). Moved a tank north from Florida to Michigan, Moved from 40 to 90 to 180. Some wrong fish choices too. I learned from each and everyone, that's what is called experience.

experience in keeping a naso tang in captivity for many years. want to hear from those who have done it, not those like me and you who read about doing it. like i said its not me being rude, its me just getting to the point as fast as i can.

I think as long as you feed plenty of nori daily it will always help. Full bellies definitely increase the peace.

You are absolutely right. Experience is the completely wrong term. I have no experience with Naso Tangs.

The right term is knowledge. I have knowledge about the subject and I will consed that is not personal knowledge, but rather "book" knowledge, which some may want to ridicule.

wasn't saying you don't know anything about reef or keeping saltwater fish. just saying on naso tangs keeping, me and you are on the same level of experience/knowledge what ever we call it, thats all
but i argee with mod, lets call a truce ok

i actually might get a bigger tank now, want to see how much more a 500 gallon tank cost me. also not sure if i go that big if its safe to go glass, only have 1 acrylic tank and it starched like crazy

Check out the Reef Discussion forum, plenty of folks on there with 400 plus tanks. (They have personal experience :)).
