Blonde Naso

ca1ore

Grizzled & Cynical
Picked up this fish for a song from my LFS because it's a bit beat up. It is eating, and all fins intact, but the body has quite a bit of blochiness. I will attempt to post a picture once the QT lights come on, but in the meantime, any suggestions? My new QT protocol calls for 10 days of NGP, so perhaps that and good feeding will get it back in shape.

These tangs get the blotchy look when stressed out or upset. The juveniles seem to always look blotchy. Is the coloration the only thing amiss?

It's been a while since I've had a big enough display to keep a Naso, and the memory isn't what it was :) Fish was eating well at the store and in my QT tank. Only thing is the blochiness which I have seen as a manifestation of stress in my hippos also. Sort of figure that's what it is. Nothing else looks amiss with it. I've had good success with Nitrofuracin green powder as a first QT med, so that's my approach here too.

Probably just stress. But even if it is something bacterial, NGP contains two different antibiotics so you should be good.
