Blotches on Blonde Naso

Ihave had this Blonde Naso Tang for just over a week. It, and a Kole
Tang are in QT and I am treating with Cupramine prophylactically for Ick.

The pictures aren't very good but the fish has what I would call white blotches covering most of the body.




The spots seem larger than Ick.

I saw something similar on a PWT at my LFS and they said it was typical on a younger fish.

Splotches are normal for a Naso tang when stressed. Some people call them stress marks.

He (she) is very shy and runs to hide every time I come near the tank. As is the Kole.

My Blonde Naso is the same way - very skittish. I thought that would change when I put her in the DT, but so far it hasn't (over a yr now).

Does she have any problems with other fish? When she goes into the DT, she will be with a Yellow Tang, Pyramid Butteerfly, Spot Breasted Angel, Flame Angel and the Kole Tang she is currently going through QT with.

As I mentioned I am treating them with Cupramine as a preventive so they have 3 more weeks of QT.

Almost anytime you mix tangs, you are going to have skirmishes. You just have to hope it doesn't get too serious. If anything, yours might end up becoming a problem for the YT & Kole as it grows. Mine has skirmishes with a Powder Blue, but it's not too serious as they are both about the same size. Nothing else messes with her though.

Those are stress spots which usually only happen the first day or two. Im surprised still happenimg after a week. Mine only had them for a day. Is there another fish thats stressing him? Hows the water parameters?
