Blowing bubbles??

Purchased a (Hang-On-Tank) Magnum canister filter to use for occasional carbon filtration and for cleanups during major water changes. Used it twice with no problem but the third time I can’t get it stop blowing (a lot) small air bubbles.

Took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together several times (very simple design).

Any ideas of how to stop the bubbles?

I found the Magnum to be a chronic PIA.

Lube the gasket holding the pump to the plastic housing with a bit of Vaseline .. should help. Double check the hose connections and consider placing some Vaseline on the outside edges of those connections. Make sure you "burb" the Magnum so you can eliminate the air that may develop in the chamber.

Just rock the canister in back and forth .. your trying to get all air trapped within the canister to flow up through the one output tube.

check to make sure you havent missed cleaning any compartments inside.
Otherwise place a restriction in the outlet and I bet the problem will go away.
