Blue acro at frag swap

I won a blue acro at the frag swap, it was in the $1 raffle drawlings. It is supposed to be a blue acro. The top of it is white, the bottom seems green or brown. I have no experiance with sps but I should be able to keep them. I have perfect water test and have a tek 4x39 watt t-5 system. Right now I have it 3/4 of the way up and in front of a maxi jet 1200. I need to know if thats ok. If the white part means its bleached? And other general info about it. If the original owner or anyone else could help I would apreiciate it.

Thanks

Floyd

Really can depend on the perticular species,but I would have to say your lighting is probably insuficient to keep it alive. Make sure you put it as high as you can in your tank and in an area with good water flow.

4 x 39watt T5 would be HO wouldn't they? If they weren't HO they'd be less wattage correct?

I may be wrong here.

I was under the the impresion that the only better than the tek system would be the icecap one and then mainly in deep tanks.

I was thinking a 4ft fixture with 39 watts, so if its a 3 ft then yeah it probably is and you should be fine . I am used to dealing with 4 ft fixtures.:D

If the white keeps expanding it is bleaching. I lost my slimer because I didn't check my calcium often enough. It was like 190ppm.

white = death or bleaching

start it on the bottom of the tank and dont put in direct flow of a maxijet (it can blow the flesh off it)

Is it possible the "white" on top is actually the blue tip? I thought there was a blue-tipped acro in the $1 raffle. It's brownish except for the tips.
