I took these at the airshow today, it was very windy but I think I did alright. Let me know what you think.

There are more on Flickr if you want to see them.

Great shots. I like the rimlight effect on the third shot. I was going to go to the show in Toronto this weekend but the weather hasnt been too great. Its gotta ba a challenge capturing the planes with a decent angle of light falling on them.

Great pics!

I get to watch these guys almost every week. I live about 2 miles from their normal flight path when they're turning around after a maneuver. They practice every Tue, Wed, and Thu when they're not out doing air shows. I wish I had a lens that's worth a damn because I could get some awesome shots of them from the beach or on the flight line. I"m stuck with the kit lens though...boo!

I lived in Pensacola for about five years, right down the street from the base, then I was briefly stationed there. I always loved watching them fly by. Seeing them at the airshow made me miss Pensacola.

Nice shots. I'm a landscape guy at heart but I shoot the airshow that comes to town here every year. This year I've got media access, starting tomorrow, so I'm really looking forward to it. This was my favorite shot from last year.

Gotta love the Raptor.

Great picture, I hope some day I can take pictures that good. The Raptor was cool, its a shame they pulled the plug on it though. I'm more of an f-35 guy, can't wait to get some pictures of it.

I wish I would not have cut the nose off of this, it was very hard to track the jets flying 500 Mph into a 30 Mph wind. I am still happy because I got the pressure wave.

Good deal. I'm out the back side of the base. I'll be here for a little more than a year for my training with the AF, so i'm going to enjoy it while I can! Hopefully I'll be riding backseat in the jet in your last pic. F-15E drops are few and far between though...
I'm slipping OT now, sorry about that! The rest of the shots are outstanding as well. They're wonderfully composed and almost more real than life. I love the pic of #5 and the shot of the Raptor.

EDIT: looked twice...that's definitely a Hornet, not a Strike Eagle. Gotta have more coffee before trying to ID a jet! oops

(If you're keeping score, the bottom of the sign in the foreground says 'Use of deadly force is authorized.')

Beerguy- That is an excellent picture. Where did you take that at. When I worked on the flight line at Miramar we would get our cameras confiscated for taking pictures on the flight line especially if they were of the aircraft.

That was taken in the pit area for the show. I did get told once, by a man with a large gun, that I needed to move so that I wasn't taking the shot straight on.
