Blue carpet not anchoring

Hi. I have a clownfish/anenome tank, a 56G plumbed into a system with over 700G's of water. It has a blue and green carpet, along with about 4-5 rose bubble tips and 3 percula clownfish, 2 of which host in the blue carpet and 1 in the bubbletip garden. The bubbletips are all on the back glass close to the LED lights, but the carpets are on the crushed coral substrate. I had to remove all rocks because of bad algae growth, and haven't replaced because I kind of like how it looks without the rock. Trouble is, while my green carpet has anchored to the bottom glass the blue one hasn't yet and it's been at least 2 weeks. Sometimes it looks like it has, but then later that day I find it tossing around in the tank. There's not a lot of flow in the tank so it's not a huge problem, but I'm puzzled and kind of worried. Hoping that someone with more experience can help me out. Do they really need a rock? When I had a rock he seemed to wander a lot onto the glass itself.

Thanks in advance. Andrew

honestly i had mine for about a year and half and he has never been on the rock its has always been on the side of the glass and never moved try putting it by the corner. and by quick question don't you have nitrate issue due to crush coral?

Both are s. haddoni as far as I can tell. As for the crushed coral, it does collect a lot of detritus but I guess I have adequate nutrient export because I've never really had a problem with nitrates, currenlty below 5. I do have occasional phosphate issues, currently about 0.25.

Ive had the same issue woth a green gig in the past i usually just let nature take its course and if they start looking sick ill pull them out but maybe its just not found a spot it likes

I'd try to get it rooted to one spot otherwise it'll float around with the flow and may end up in a wave maker. You could put a rock so it just makes contact with its foot and it may wedge itself under the rock. Haddonis actually enjoy doing this instead of clinging on to a rock like a BTA. I have a green haddoni which has its foot just under a rock but it's attached to the bottom glass of my tank.

Haddoni like a bit of sand they either attach the foot through a deep soft sand bed to the bottom on the tank or to a rock that's under the sand I've never had long term success with one with out the the sand maybe give it a container filled with sand and let it burry in the container than turn current back on should do the trick so you don't have to put sand in the whole tank :)

Mine attaches to the bottom of the tank over the sand.. See my profile pic.

Sometimes when I had to move him when I relocated the tank, he would attach to the rock by over time he would make his way to the sand and bottom of tank.
