Blue face angel growth rate

I have a 190 (60x 24 x 30) presently with no large fish. I have always liked the blue face angels, but they grow big.

I am just wondering from hobbiest actual experience, If I purchased a juvenile, how quickly do they grow and how long before it outgrows my tank and I would need to look for a new home (or would it actually outgrow my tank)?

That confirms what I thought; I was just hoping for a different answer.

Asfurs seems to be slow growers as well

But, would still get way too big for the OP's current tank.

Buying a fish, with intentions of re-homing it down the road just isn't a good idea, IMO. This is especially true with fish that spend almost their entire lives in your tank, then have to be re-acclimated. My kids get too attached to fish to allow me to do this. (I won't admit that I may get a little attached too.) Plus, getting any fish out of any tank is a pain.

Wow, my blue face must be something else. When I got it, was about 4 inches and after 10 months it's only like 5 inches (but very thick). I do feed well and target him in my feedings of NLS pellets too.

Also he still has his some of his juve coloration. I know it's individual fishes, but most 4" BF I see already have full adult coloration. So mines seems like a slow grower/changer.
