Blue/Green Chromis Charging at Black Ocellaris Pair

Hey all!

I just added a pair of juvenile black oscellaris to my DT I've wanted these for over a year now and the hubby finally gave in and let me get them.

We have a 40 gal tall tank w/ a 29 gal sump/fuge. The only other fish in the tank is a lone adule blue/green Chromis and my green clown goby. The Chromis did fine with the two new additions for the first half hour or so, but then I've caught him a couple of times charging at the ocellaris. Our first thought was to catch him and but him in the refugium for a couple of hours until the clowns were acclimated, and then putting him back in the DT, but I can't catch the little bugger. I don't want to stress out my new babies any more than I have to...

Thoughts?

Well, finally caught the blue/green chromis. Learned the hard way not to put different damsels together...

Looks like you already took care of the problem. People often forget that chromis are in the damsel family, and can be a bit pugnacious.

Yeah, he'll be in "time-out" for a week or two...we may try to acclimate him back into the DT...or find him another home...

I'd find him a new home. He may behave in the short term if you add him back to the tank, but eventually will likely be aggressive again.
