Blue Hippo tang, turns transparent at night, and has...

turns transparent after lights out, and has what looks like black scabs on him, been in qt for a week, been treating with lifegaurd for 3 days.. any ideas?

Many fish, tangs included, change color at night and when stressed. Its also common for hippo tangs to have dark scars from wedging into crevices in the rocks. Could this be what you are seeing? Where on the fish are the 'scabs'? Any chance of a picture? Is the fish eating?

Yea I agree. My hippo is by far my most BIZARRE fish. She's a beauty but WEIRD!!! She has the black pits near her nose and face area but that is normal for this fish. Look at photos fromothers to make sure you aren't treating something you shouldn't be.
