Blue LED Flashlight

Yeah, I figured by the time you buy the components it probably wouldn't be worth going custom. Thanks for the idea though

I bought an ultra fire for work and love it so bright. I'm a correction officer that works graveyard so it works perfect for what I need it for and could not beat the price.

How hard would it be to buy a $3 led flash light and swap out to blue leds. Purchased locally at like radioshack or frys electronics?

I believe you can find a better blue light flashlight deal at ACE. Depending on the size, some are <$10. Those flashlights are recommended for searching for scorpions.

Cool, I'll look into that. Do you know if the blue/uv scorpion flashlights work well with coral viewing?

Ill stop by an ACE on the way home and see what they have and if not Ill just order the amazon one. If they have them cheap at ACE do you want me to get one for you too?

I bought a couple LED flashlights from Jason. One was tuned to a specific kelvin and caused me to have convulsions. The second one burned out after about 3 hours of use and since I never got a receipt from Jason, I wasn't able to get it replaced. :)

lol hopefully ACE has them cheap, the one on amazon seems like it is going to be very bright, which may not be a bad thing.

the little blue led flashlights are mostly used for coral viewing at frag swaps and auctions. So at a swap if someone brings a bunch of frags in cups and doesnt have a light over them you can shine the blue light on them and get an idea of how they will flouresce under aquarium lighting.

Jason - Frick?

The flashlights are for taking to coral purchasing events so you can see what they look like under actinic light. Some people also use them to view their corals at home, look for scorpions or check for random bodily fluids....

My students are "supposedly" working on a data collection lab....honestly I think some are just playing with the meter sticks

I got mine from frick also. Had it about 1.5 years now. Still works great. Think it was $20. Worth every penny. I use it all the time.
