blue linckia starfish

I just got my cleaning crew and put them in my aquarium today. I noticed when I received the star fish (blue linckia) the bag it was in had a lot of what looked like brown excrement or insides floating in it. I acclimated the starfish properly, but the starfish has not moved at all since I put it in the tank. I assume it may be dead, but was wondering if they might just be really docile, or if he is definitely dead, he has been in the tank for approximately 5 hours. Thanks!

Mine often just sits in one spot for a while when I moved him to the new tank, he didn't move for a day and a half, but he's off and running again now.

The starfish kept deteriorating, it got worse over night and he had not moved an inch, I gave it a proper burial at sea unfortunately.

Sorry to hear that. Just to share my experience... if I believe something may be dead I pick it up and do a quick smell test, the smell of death is unmistakable.

LOL, when you work at an aquaculture facility like I do you have to be able to know if something is dead or not, can't spend all day watching it to see if it moves, or wait for it to start falling apart. This is especially true for inverts like snails, in which a perfectly healthy individual may sit in the exact same spot for days.
