Blue Line angel pairing?

So as some of you know I recently acquired a Blue Line Angel that is changing into adult coloration. Such a cool fish that Im wondering if anyone has tried pairing these in an aquarium setting? I know there are adults being offered for sale recently and am curious what people think about trying to pair a full adult with a juvenile? Would one turn female and the other male or am I asking for disaster?

I would assume that they are like other angels and are born female and one will change. Only way to know is to give it a try, problem is it might be a 300$ fail. Just be sure and use a acclimation box and have a backup plan for the fish

I agree, just buy a much smaller one, and use an acclimation box. I did this when I originally paired my Chaetodontoplus meredithis.

I had had 2 pairs of Bluelines in both my 180 and an old 300 gallon FOWLR system. They got along well because they different sizes when purchased and were added at the same time. It can be done, however there is no guarantee they will become a true pair. Neither of the two pairs I kept were a truely bonded pair, they just tolerated each other.

What do you think would happen if I put a larger adult in the tank with the juvenile already established? Bad idea?

This would work but I would caution you that large adults are the toughest to get eating and eating well. How big is the one you currently have?
