I am interested in getting a blue line grouper for my 150g Preadator FOWLR I am setting up. I have a 55g clown tank and 50g sump tied in so the total system will be around 225g. I cant seem to find much, if any useful info on this fish other than they get to about 14" and there extremely preadatory. I would like to have with it a Volitan Lion, Snowflake Moray, and both a blue and yellow tang. Would also love a foxface but understand the load on my sytem is already significant.May this combo work together, what do i feed the grouper, and is it likely to become ertemely territorial and kill the others. Sorry about going on so long and as always any help is greatly appreciated~Dave

Is your tank 60" x 24" x 25" or 48" x 24" x 32"?
At any rate, all but the smallest tangs (such as the yellow) won't do well in a 4 or 5 foot tank. Personally, I prefer foxfaces to tangs due to temperament, disease resistance, and the fact that they will pretty much eat anything they're offered, so I'd so with Siganus vulpinus or S. unimaculatus in place of the tang. Foxfaces are MUCH less "nervous/pacy" than tangs too.
Also, if you want to keep a lionfish, know that they do better without fast, nervous swimmers in the tank. With the proper aquascaping and tankmates, they will spend most of their time out and about rather than trying to get out of the way and hanging in a corner.
As for the grouper, I can't help you there, as I've never kept them.

i asume that the blueline is simaler to a minitas grouper wich i have and i too would like to get a blueline but groupers like alot of caves so make sure u have alot of liverock caves or hideing places as for food u can try krill,silversides,pieces of market shrimp and maybe squid they sell at the lfs but i would first see wat he eats at the lfs then get him to eat that for u than try other foods my minitus or coral grouper eats krill with garlic elixir he isnt very hungry most of the time and usually only eats one to three pieces of krill than he wont eat any more i have mine with three archers i converted to salt and a moray and he gets along fine with them except for the archers if they swim into the caves and he is nearby but so far keeps to himself good luck on the blue line
