ok so I have that 7 inch blueline angel almost ready to go into the DT he is healthy but will only eat clams and a little frozen krill .
my question is when I decide to put him in do you think the other fish eating will teach him to eat other foods?
I cant keep feeding this guy clams on the half shell everyday in the DT.

I also want other fish and cant keep him in the QT forever

^^^This is a safe bet. When I QT tangs, they usually won't start eating nori until they hit the DT and see other fish eating it. Fishy see, fishy do. ;)

Have you tried frozen like PE Mysis, Mega-Marine Angel, and Rod's Food with him? Anything that's a "Angel & Butterfly" preparation...

I just put 2 huge pieces of krill and he hammered it down .yesterday he would only take little pieces cut up. and the the calm.
so I will have to try and if he wont eat I will take him out what else can I do .

thank you

I wouldn't put it into the DT unless it is eating aggressively. If it has not picked up on other foods (mysis, pellets, etc.), it means his feeding response is probably not good enough to compete with other fish for foods in the DT. There is a good chance that it will stop eating when it goes into the DT.

A 7" blueline angel is pretty much a full-grown adult, and is harder to adapt to a captive environment and accept prepared foods than young adults at 3-4". This is the reason why you are having a hard time with it right now. I would keep it in QT and trying different types of food. You will need to stop feeding it clams and krills so that it will get hungry and try to taste other foods.

In general, I advise against buying a full grown adult angelfish because of the reason stated above. It's better to buy a large juvenile or small adult at 3-4" and grow it yourself.
