Not all. I have a high flow, SPS dominated tank and my mandarin has coped well w/ the current for multiple years. Occasionally he gets caught in the flow and zings across the tank....can't bother him much because he'll go right back to that spot again. It is sort of funny to see.
I agree about the Six Line Wrasse. They are known pod eaters and are on the hunt all day long. That will provide major competition for whatever pods you have for the mandarin.
