Blue Ocean Aquatics

Hi. Is Tec still around? I may head down to SJ this weekend and wanted to see what my options are, aside from Atlantis and Neptune.

You're out of luck, the only one in the area is Neptunes.

Tec closed his doors I heard. I was going to go there and check it out too.
Was told by a close friend of Tec's about it.

Was in san Jose area last Tuesday and only thing open was neptunes. Lucky goldfish was open also but not worth going to. Blue ocean was closed. Aquatic gallery is open on the weekends. Not sure about sustainable reef, you might have to call them. And haven't been to maxs new place.

I heard he was planning to close but wasn't sure if he actually closed his doors. How sad, he had a cool store.

Last time I was there, Tec gave me his card and said he was closing the store and operating out of his garage but keeping his store phone number. If you know the store number, try to call that.

Surprising to hear Blue Ocean is going garage! I was in there a little over two weeks ago, and although they didn't have much livestock, Tec mentioned they had just returned from vacation.

IIRC, they do have rather limited hours. I would call before stopping by.
Weekdays: 4pm to 8pm
Weekends: 12pm to 6pm

Tec is moving to his garage because the landlord raised his rent. He said he will be setting up through August and should start selling livestock again in September. Still also able to order dry supplies. He said he could still be reached via blue ocean's email.

Max is no longer in the aquarium business. Daniel took over. Its called aquarium specialists. He's busy doing service and hasnt open much. Busy training the new kid.

Yeah, that's really unfortunate. Tec and Stacie are wonderful people. Hopefully, they can open up again in the future.

Scuzy, I'll pm you Tec's e-mail.

I've just checked Max/Daniel's new place today. It now only opens on Saturday. From Mon to Fri, it opens for "appointments" only which is odd. Sunday is closed. It seems to me that Daniel is either busy with fish-tank maintenance or his kids.

There are not many fish stores can sustain in this economic down turn. Hope we will have these stores up again in the near future.

It's been tough -- I live in Alameda and we lost both local fish stores. Even in the immediate surrounding area we lost Lucky Goldfish in Oakland and Green Marine in Berkeley (though if I remember correctly, Shawn said he is heading over to Albany Aquarium), and beyond that Wet Pets farther north also closed. The closest store to me now is Aquatic Collection in Hayward.

Tec is still open like someone pointed out just out of his garage. Also remember that Tec and stacie have full time jobs other than the store and with rent cost going up why not just run out of your garage for a while. Should give them more time with the family too. Tec has some sick set ups going in his garage, I would keep in touch with him to check it out.

hi guys, can someone please send me Tec's email of cell number. i used to have his cell but i lost it when my cell phone crashed:(
thanks alot for the help guys.

I passed by Aquarium Specialists today and wasn't sure if it was opened or not? Is he selling any livestock yet or just has a few displays up and running?

Still remodeling the inside. Fish system is up. Still working on the coral and display system. I'm hoping he should be up by this summer.

Is Aquarium Specialist supposed to be Tec?

@ Oshamiz: I tried emailing him a few times but never got a reply back along with someone else I know that tried. Probably our emails went to spam, haha.
