Blue Screen !!!???

Bought a new Profilux EX but when I plugged it in for a test run, all I got was a blue screen and no text. Would have thought I'd get a default time of day or something.

Is this normal? Does it need anything plugged in before it displays anything?

This can happen of hot plugged, i.e the power is appiled to the adapter before being plugged into the back of the controller.

Does this cause any damage? Thats exactly what I did. I will try plugging into the profilux first then the adapter to the wall --- just as soon as I get back from work

No not really it just confuses the ProfiLux and so does not boot.

thanks, plugged the power supply into the Profilux first, then powered up and all seems well. I have not tried the external devices yet but will be doing that over the weekend.

I do however have another question for you. How are people mounting the various probs in their sump. There is no holder so I guess I'll have to make something up but, do the probs have to remain dry above a certain water line? Just wondering how best to set them up considering power failures and/or maintenance where the sump water rises for a while.

oh I should have also asked what diameter the pvc is. I'm having similar problems with a need for a metric fitting on a wavyseas. No luck yet after checking a ton of local plumbing suppliers and what not.

Interesting how we are suppose to be a metric country but you can't find much metric stuff.

yes, thats exactly the problem - metric. But thanks, it seems to list that it has 20mm fittings. I'll have to look around and see what I can find to plumb metric to imperial.
