Blue spot jawfish disease

I keep forgetting to add pictures haha. They are both still alive. But they are also both males. So I am going to have to rehome one of them if both survive. One of them appears to be completely healed( the second one) and the first one still has the patches. But is eating fine still and they haven't spread. And is getting more active. The patches are the exact same as they were. No change at all. So I really don't know:/. The kanaplex definitely worked on jawfish 2. So for anyone in the future that suspects bsjd I would start with kanaplex for sure.

Moved one into the display. He is doing great in there! Very busy making a burrow, and he is currently
Using the hole in the rock that I wanted him to use, fingers crossed that he stays there! https://vimeo.com/163739699

Good news.

(PS: videos get better if you flip the phone 90 degrees ;))

Great news he looks well settled. How do you know you have 2 males ? I didn't think people knew how to sex them ?

There are ways to sex them, but so far it would require to precisely measure body length and jaw length to be sure and even that would only be reliable with larger adults.
Though in general, if they fight like crazy and would kill each other without intervention, you got two males.
If they get more or less along without trying to kill each other you either have a pair or two females.
The latter is how my two act. They don't try to kill each other, but constantly squabble over burrows - one always likes the other ones better and tries to steal it.

Mine absolutely would have killed each other. They scraped their mouths trying to get through the critter keeper. It was crazy. So I guess it could be a female, but experience across all ranges of species, land a sea dwelling, this kind of fighting looked more like battling males.

I'm down a reefapalooza in Orlando right now, but my husband says that he is even more settled tonight. We keep adding rubble for him. The entrance to his burrow is atleast double the size now!

So while I was gone, apparently the jawfish that was still in qt managed to jump out, but the one in the display is doing great, has claimed the entire large island and has 2 burrow, or maybe it's just 1 massive one with 5 entrances. No joke. He's crazy.
