I raised my alk this morning, .25 dkh over a two hour period, (132ml of BRS soda ash / 240 gallons of water). I kept an eye on the ph, and it inceased by .12 over that period. Now, a couple of hours later, my BSJ, my favorite fish, is out of is burrow, laying on his side, and gasping. All other fish seem fine and are eating.
Are BSJ's sensitive to alk or ph swings? The adjustment was (I thought) minimal. I have more of an alk increase when I do a water change. I don't understand.
Is there anything I can do for him? He looks really bad, I think it may be too late.
