Liveaquaria recommends a 150g as minimum but the bigger the better. Fine substrate is a must with minimal to no rock work because if they scratch their stomach area it can easily turn into a infection. Also very fine sand so they can cover themselves to feel secure and for protection. I notice it says your in Israel... Be safe

I'm from Israel ....
Our measurement unit is liters.
I plan on container dimensions are:
Length: 130 cm
Depth: 50 cm
Height: 60 cm
Total: 400 liters
This gallons: 105-106 gallons.

What do you think in general about the idea?

Sounds really small to me. With 50cm depth they can hardly turn while staying on the bottom...

In principle, the height does not play a big role.
This is probably the final design -

a sketch would help... but the tank would still need to have more depth. It should be bigger than the 150 Live Aquaria recommends.

They're a very difficult fish to keep. While some people will state they can be kept in midsize aquaria, 470+ liters, I would recommend a much larger tank. In the US, we have the California Stingray which is much better option. I'm not sure about other rays in Israel. By the way, I have seen Blue Spotted Rays just south of Eilat. Very, very nice.

Second, I've grown species of Stingray and Israel was among the few who managed to hold them.

If you're up for it then go for it... it is one of the most Beautiful sea creatures, but just know that you need alot of work to properly provide for it. Im no expert, but I think your height is fine... from what ive read, plenty of floor space is what is most important. Check 'Wet Web Media . Com'. they have a ton of information on alot of fish, inverts, rays, etc.

Hey there, first off if it was my tank I would not get the sting ray. It will grow nearly half the length of your tank and is difficult to keep.
Why not get a longer tank? I would recommend a 6x2x2ft tank as a good minimum.

Although live aquaria says
' The Blue Dot Stingray is also called the Bluespotted Ribbon Tail Ray and Bluespotted Stingray. It is an attractive bottom dwelling fish. It has a tan body with blue spots and stays relatively small, but requires a 300 gallon or larger aquarium as an adult.'
