Not sure why, but I always have my blue sps corals, turn into more of a purplish color. Shaded spots tend to be a mixture of purple and fluorescent green, but I want the blue back!
I have experimented with different lighting intensities, but only lightens the purple, doesn't bring back the blue. (250 watt Radiums)
I don't dose anything special, just water changes weekly, feed fish, and maintain big three with two-part. I have also experimented with higher nutrient levels as well, which just made the purple take on a brownish look. However, low nutrients led to a pale purple....
Don't get me wrong, the purple these corals produce is very nice, but really would like the blue back!
