Blue Star Leopard Wrasse keeping strange hours... :/

"feed ur reef...feed it!"
I purchased a female Blue Star Leopard Wrasse (Macropharyngodon bipartitus) from a local LFS about a week ago. She appears to be healthy and eats very well. (feeding Mysis)
Now my lighting starts at 10am and are in full power around 12:30pm but for some reason she will only come out of her sand "bed" at around 5pm and then back to "bed" when lights go out at 8pm.

is this a case of "biological clock" adjustment or is there something more to this that I should be aware of?

TIA for your input :D

Biological clock, nothing more. Note they were collected in an area ~9 hours ahead of you. You could consider shifting your light schedule for now, and slowly shift it back. Otherwise, this should correct in time.

Congrats on getting a healthy and eating one.

I have one, she took 3 weeks to get mostly on my tanks light and feeding schedule. And 2 months to get completely on schedule. Great fish.

If you are successful at adding another female blue star let me know. I can only add other types of leopards, she keeps killing new blue stars.

thank you both :) feel better knowing it is a common issue.
I never had this happen with my Potters Leopard but that is likely due to the fact that the LFS at purchased it from held it in an observation tank for 4 weeks prior to letting me pick it up.

and thank you RJT as I am aware of the Leopards mortality rate after transport....it is the main reason I will not buy any fish, especially Leopards, without observing it eat first...at which point I know I at least have a fighting chance it will survive in my aquarium ;)

PS, no plans for adding another female at the moment but will certainly LYK if and when I do...

regards,
C
