blue tang and clean up crew

Received these last friday, right on time and all alive! I followed the acclimation guide to the letter, even though it was a major test of my patience.

Anyway, the clean up crew went right to work and 6 days later the tank is looking noticably better.

The blue tang was small, about an inch and a half, and he had some scrapes. He was initially bullied by the clown and the bicolor psuedo chromi I have, but that stopped after a day. He didn't eat for two days and I was worried, but now he is constantly eating the red algae I have growing in several spots. Scrapes are gone and his belly is plump!

My tank is lightly stocked and I have lots of open swim space for him. However, he tends to spend alot of time in the branches of my porites digita, he sleeps there and spends most of the day there. Is he just still acclimating? Anyway, this has been a positive experience, the first time I have ordered live stock through the mail...I'm counting the days til the 14 day mark, it seems that is the psychological barrier to breathe easy for him...

Psyrob,

Thank you for your post. We are glad to hear that your order was received in satisfactory condition. When some fish are first acclimated to the aquarium it can take some time for them to become more used to their surroundings. If the fish seems to be hiding at first please give them time to become more comfortable in their new home. We are sure that the Blue Tang will make a great long-term addition to your aquarium. If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Just an update...blue tang is alive, well and eating fine. He's become a great tank mate to my other fish, in fact, he seems to "play" with my clownfish, swimming in tandem up and down the tank.

The clean up crew is still at it, although I can't find them all in the rocks.

I would definately buy from live aquaria again, just an overall positive experience!

Psyrob,

Thank you for your update. We are very happy to hear that the Blue Tang and the Clean-up Crew is working out well in your tank. We hope that they continue to be a source of entertainment and beauty in your aquarium for many years to come.
