Blue Tang in a 150?

I'm looking for opinions from the Tang Police. I have a Blue Tang(4") and a Blue Eye Kole(4") in a 90, and I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade or sell them. I don't like the dimensions of a 180, so the tank I would go with would be a 150. The next largest fish in there would be a pair of Leopard wrasses, currently 2" each. If it's okay, how crazy would it be to add a Sailfin?

what are the dimensions of the 150? it's recommended to have a blue tang in an 8-foot tank. though, i personally don't have problem with it being in a 6-foot tank.

72 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 28 1/2

I would have the 180g instead for the better footprint. the 24" width makes aquascaping much easier and allows keeping slightly larger fish. For 18" width, you are really limited to fish that don't get bigger than 8". For 24", you can keep tangs that get to 10-12".

If the height is what you like on the 150g, get the 225g I have. The dimensions are 72x24x30. The 30" height sure makes the tank look nice, but a PITA to work in for short people like me. For my next build I'm considering limiting the height to only 26".

It's a question of height and space. I really like my everything about my 90 except the length. I'd also like to redo the plumbing to remove a few pumps.

I see. If the width is the limiting factor, then go with the 150g.

For a 150g, I would keep a powder blue tang than a regal blue though. A powder blue tang is a better fit for tank that size.

I do like the Powder Blue. But the Blue Tang is one of the main reasons I'd be doing the upgrade.
