Blue Tang

I have a blue tang and when I first got him he had some ich then I got a cleaning goby and the ich was gone now he is covered in it and I'm not sure what I can do.

Blue Tangs are very ich prone. Try soaking your fish food in a garlic supplement. Hopefully the goby will help out too. There are other things that you can do if you remove the tang to a hospital tank.

I would just beef up its feedings with alot of greens. I would get some garlic supplement, some vita-chem and selcon and add to its feedings. Usually they can fight it on it owns but it could already be to late. If its still eating you have a chance.

No the cleaner goby is fine he cleans him all the time just too much ich I guess, I got rid of the ich but the fish hasnt come out of his rock all day it may have been too late. I can see him breathing and moving his fins in the rock though. He has some light purple spots on him.

The goby is a really good way to fight ich. It is a very good sign that you have seen him cleaning the tang.

Keep offering garlic soaked and enriched food. You may want to go for a day without lights to reduce stress.

I did a freshwater dip and the ich is gone. The fish is alive but he is hiding in his rock and wont come out. I dont know if he got himself stuck or not cuz I dont know how he got into the small gap. I know he has hid there before so he must know how to get out of it.

My tang dropped the ich it looks like once he spent a day hiding in his rock. I thought it was still there but I looked today and he looked like it was gone. He is also eating so thats good. The only thing I noticed is that it has some purple spots on its body so I think the ich may have eaten away at it but I have no clue.
