I was near tank all morning. I went in the yard to do some things and I cam back. Poof no trace. Can they move that fast if they wanted too? I know there is a stone carb nearby that has 1 claw. Could he actually pull it off that fast and drag it in his hole? Or do they die and disolve that fast? I need CSI. lol

How big was your Condy? Oh and btw, its called a purple tip condy.

Did you check the rockwork very carefully? It could be just at one of those angles where you cannot view. How big is your stone crab?

Sorry for all the questions.

purple tip... My mistake. I did examine the rock and It can close up small but no sign. The Crab is between a quarter and 1/2 dollar size. Closer to a quarter. I been watching him and he isnt eating and I see no signs of debris.. I would think wherever it is crabs would be in the area. I'm Baffled. Under full lights as well.

Your Condy could have closed up into a ball and floated around. Check all corners and check any powerheads or intakes in case if it is in the shape of a ball being sucked. Good luck.
