Blue Voodoo - blue tips supposed to show white?

IME, once algae has established itself on a bit of acro skeleton, it seems to at least impede or if not prohibit flesh regrowth over that part, especially if that branch wasn't actively growing already.

Nipping off the algae-fied tip seems to encourage flesh growth over the fresh cut, IME.

Ok, I'm going to try that. Thanks

Taphil, your pic does not look like blue voodoo to me. A good looking acro for sure, but not blue voodoo.
Got it at Petco on an ORA plug. Not sure what you're talking about in terms of striations. Here's a close-up:

It's beautiful. Mine's on the way out again, it seems. It just can't tolerate the alk fluctations I'm having in my tank.

I think I'll only introduce LPS until the alk consuumption becomes consistent, and I get dosing pumps.

I guess some SPS are just less tolerant than others. Thanks again to everyone.
