Steve,
Get in line pal! :lmao:

No problem man, I think I owe Coralnuts or fickle a frag of them, I forget...

Nice blues Ugly, jjmcat.;)

Thanks for reminding me...

(I'll send you a PM later)

Hey bud, I'm closing on my house in 2 days, then the tank gets moved. So I figure I'll be ready towards the end of this month. Lets do this!

blues... well still not a great pic, but it's what I can do for now. I have finally figured out how to post pics, it wasn't that difficult after all. I went into my very old photobucket account and gave this a try.

These were taken in 20k MH lighting

What the heck.... Here are some blues I have been trying to get to grow faster.. I had lost a lot of them to some rogue crab in my display tank, down to 4 polyps again. (right where I started a year ago)

This pic is with NO aquarium lighting and the camera flash on.... These are the truest blue I have ever seen under any lighting. Even more than the tubs I have seen in person.

Wow! Those blues are absolutely stunning The Beaut and CoralNutz! I wouldn't mind having either of them in my collection :)

Well Reef Junkie (AKA Duece Bigalo) will have a small frag of these shortly, but that's about it for the foreseeable future, maybe they will grow faster in his tank then in mine and he can help get them out to others as well.

Cool, thanks for the heads-up...I'm gonna be knocking down his door for these :D What kind of lighting are you keeping them under? I've heard that although 20k MH brings out the best color, it's the 14k that causes the best growth. Is there any truth to that? Of course, I do know that morphs grow differently in different tanks depending on other factors in addition to lighting such as water flow, water quality, feeding, etc. but I'm just trying to learn more about the light effect.

Well that picture was taken with NO aquarium lighting on at all, just a camera flash... I personally only use VHO's as I am not into sps at all. I do have a few sps that do fine up top under the vhos...

I really don't like the 20K bulbs, they are way to blue IMO, you can make brown corals look blue even... 14K is a little better... But with halides I personally prefer the 10K with actinic.... Good thing there is lots of selections for all the different tastes out there... :)

Most blues I have seen dull out rather quickly under bright light... Not these though, I have a friend that has them under 400Watts of halide and they are blue as can be.... Actually I have noticed that the blue gets brigher and less of a dark blue when they are in the bright lights....

Also have some of these blues.. They are more of a blue in the middle that blends into a purple color towards the outside of the oral disc.. But very nice IMO....

Hopefully I will have my small frag of these blues with green frill tonight... (Hint hint JNS, get out the power fragger, I'll be over at 7)

Good thing the last couple blues are very fast growers, unfortunatly the waiting list is long, lol....

Dammit coralnutz!
Of all the people you had to tell I was getting some of them, you chose Karen!
Will I ever get sleep? I might as well just get them and ship them right out to her. Then I won't have to worry about the zoas Ninja killing me in my sleep and taking my prized possession!

:lmao:
