Has anyone seen these zoos before? This is the first time I've seen this kind of blue zoos. I couldn't find it on zoaid either.

Any name suggestions are welcome too! :D

Thanks guys!

Yeah, I think there are probably around 200 polyps on that rock! Actually, that's how the zoos look, they have a very bright center that's almost teal in color. I'll try to take a top down pic tonight and hopefully that'll show their true color better.

i have a bunch of these that came in from i think a solomon island order. i have never seen a name for them i just call them 2 tone blues. but if you can come up with a catchy name like mr freeze you can make a lot more on frags of them lol!!maybe frosty the snowman hmmm making these names up is actually kinda fun..

LOL! Those are pretty cool names! How about blue glacier? :P So how's the blue holding for yours oddballs? How long do you have them for? Just curious if these had changed into other colors under different lights.

Cheers

I vote for "Frosty the Snowman"

I have some I got months ago but they havent grown any new polyps. The frag being upsidown and lost for oh 5 months didnt help im sure.

Very nice colony.

this is ridiculous... So your telling him to name them, so he can sell them for more $$$? Is that what you do at your business? Thats just wrong. What about calling them blue zoanthids, and not fragging up a beautiful colony like that, and just let them live a stress free life in his tank.

This whole thing of naming zoas is stupid, and this is the mentality that causes all of us to have to pay extreme prices, and have soo many zoa frags die. (from unecessary and un educated fragging)

I hope he would not charge more because of a name, but I do think that fragging is needed to spread the few NICE corals that come in. You don't always find blue zoas at the LFS and he could easily supply a couple locals with a beautiful coral.

Agree with fragging, but not with charging more for a name.

If people didn't frag (correctly) I might never have most of the zoas I have now.

And naming, is a good thing because it helps people identitfy a zoa better when in discussion. If I say I have nuclear greens, everyone knows what I am talking about. But, people should not charge more for a name. And it is really up to the consumer to decide if they want to purchase it at a higher price or not.

dc_909, those are some sweeeet zoas!

LOL, nah, I'm sure oddballs didn't mean it that way, I think he was just saying it as a joke. :P Too bad people are using names to make ridiculous amount of money off tiny frags....I completely agree with dc_909, naming makes it a lot easier to identify zoas. Instead of trying to make up some description, people can just make up the name and be able to see what kind of zoas were mentioned.

I think I sell my frags at pretty reasonable prices, usually < $1/polyp. :P Oh, by the way, I got that whole colony for $60. I think that's a decent price for a colony that size.

No need to get so upset Matt.If you notice you will see a LOL towards the end.I do but from his shop and his prices are very low compared to the online stores and other lfs ive been to in the surrounding states to Oklahoma.I for one like the name corals and fragging.Tell me you have never purchased a frag from a lfs before.

Ive got these zoas and I wish they would keep the same color that yours do.These zoas are in my top 5 of all time.

They are on the bottom.I also have the blues with the red skirt right next to them. The only blues that I am able to place midway up are my tubs. The rest of my blues will turn a grayish color.

I am upset. Its comments like that that perpetuate these high prices. Maybe he was joking, but the random noob who reads that will see dollar signs, and start chopping...

This naming thing is out of hand, and nobody seems to realize, that the prices are a direct result of the names. Dont think these "rare" morphs werent around years ago, they were, but they were called "blue zoo, red zoo, pink zoo... etc, and they went for like 10$ for a huge frag. Now its almost impossible to find the same frag for less than 10$ p/polyp...
Think about it...
