I also placed a small piece of shrimp on its mouth and it took down pretty fast. I had to fend off my Coral Banded shrimp, Peppermint Shrimp, skunk cleaner and all my crabs and snails. Man that was annoying.

well, imagine my mantis shrimp trap, had some silversides, brine mysis and spirulina.all I caught were every single shrimp herit crab and snail that could fit in there.except a mantis that keeps slaying my fish:(

Tomato hosting this...possibility?

Tomato hosting this...possibility?

Do you guys think my female Tomato clown which is now currently hosting a Hammer coral (aviatar) will switch over to my Bluecarpet. I am well aware of the fact that Tomato clowns naturally host BTAs (E. Quadricolor) in the wild and not Carpets (s. Haddoni). I want to know what chances of my tomato switching. Thanks

I'f be a little leary about anyone hosting an haddoni who isn't a natural host.

True but I have seen many pictures of fish in the tomato complex hosting Haddonis. Its a risk to take. Thats sometimes the only way you learn. Hey if it does''t work out then I will get a clown that naturally hosts a Haddoni. But thanks for the input.

My Bluecarpet completely buried its foot in the sand today. The foot is all the way in the sand on the front of the glass. Pretty cool.

Carpets are very cool, but the thing I hate is that they decide wherre to live. mine is right in front which is great but I cannot clean the glass where he is.

Well now that he is further down in the sand. I can see him better. He is facing to the back of the tank not the front. But its his decision where to go. As long as he is happy.

Here's my blue carpet with 2 black saddlebacks and 1 red (brown) saddleback, they actually get along well for a trio..bought the carpet and a pair of red saddlebacks, female didn't make the trip home, got the 2 blacks...in went the anemone (after a near disaster with a powerhead) left him alone for a couple of weeks until he firmly planted his foot and was eating and responding well, then added the blacks, then after about 10 days added the red. They look pretty neat while sleeping all snuggled together in the folds of the anemone!

MAn I have a female tomato clownfish that hosts in a hammer coral. Do you think I could get a family of Clarkiis for my carpet once he gets a little bigger?

Hard to say...sometimes a clown will host in an anemone...sometimes not...I have been really really lucky with all my clowns.

From what I have heard, Clarkii hosts about anything and usually readily except most anemones. Not to mention that they naturally host S. Haddoni. I might give it a shot. I will have to see wht my tomato does next.

You might as well....they do host almost anything and yes, the S. Haddoni is a natural anemone for them to host.
